Severus Alexander, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 228, Rome mint, (2.292 grams), obv. laureate head to right, around IMP SEV ALE XAND AVG, rev. P M TR P VII COS II P P, Mars standing to right, holding reversed spear and resting left hand on shield, (cf.S.7832, RIC 91, RSC 3643). Flan crack, otherwise extremely fine.
