Gaius (Caligula), (A.D. 37-41), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 37-38, (10.82 grams), obv. bare head of Caligula to left, around C CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS PON M TR POT, rev. VESTA above, Vesta seated to left, veiled and draped seated on ornamental throne, holding patera and transverse sceptre, S C across field, (S.1803 [VF o250], RIC 38, C.27, BMC 46). Green patina, with some oxidation, otherwise nearly very fine.
