Phoenicia, Tyre, (c.2nd century B.C. - 1st century A.D.), silver shekel or tetradrachm, (14.27 grams), Tyre mint, issued 96-95 B.C., obv. laureate head of Melqarth beardless to right, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, carrying a palm, standing on prow of ship, club to left, also to left **AL* ( = 31 [= 96-5 B.C.], to right **SA*, Phoenician letter between legs, around TYPOU IEPA**S KAI ASULOU*, (S.5918, BMC 118-9, [cf.70 for **SA*], H.305). Well centred, very fine or better, scarce.

Graded and slabed by NGC as CH VF, surface 4/5, Surface 2/5 and brushed.
