Midway Islands, U.S.Base, WWII, one beer ration chit, numeral 5 at left and 3 at right. Very fine and rare.

Midway Island is a small atoll in the north Pacific Ocean one-third of the way between Honolulu and Tokyo and was the location of a U.S. base during WWII. A massive sea battle was fought at Midway during WWII and the resultant crushing defeat of the Japanese Navy by the U.S.Navy was a turning point of the war in the Pacific.
