The Chalmers’ Gyrator Committee was formed on 12 July 1931 to send John Chalmers, the inventor of the Gyrator, a 12-cylinder rotary two-stroke engine, and holder of Australian Provisional Protection No.2681, to England to exploit the Gyrator.
