Description
Western Australia mining. The Londonderry Gold Mine Limited, 1899, to Lieut Col Arthur Kennedy McCausland, featuring a vignette of a goldfield mining camp, printed by Waterlow & Sons. Edge split at fold, toning at edges and folds, otherwise very fine.
In 1894 funds amounting to œ700,000 were raised for this venture promoted as a future star of the Coolgardie goldfield. In 1895 the share price collapsed amid reports of fraudulent share dealing. In 1899 the company was reorganised with a smaller capital of œ70,000 to which this certificate applies.
