The Australia United Mining Company, promoted by the Stafford Syndicate and Lord Fingall, was registered on 29 August 1896 to acquire and work two mining areas situated about 100 miles from Menzies in the Mount Malcolm district of Western Australia. Up to the end of February 1898 a total of 378 tons of ore had been crushed yielding 2,296 oz of gold.
