L. Cassius Caecianus, (c.102 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.79 grams), obv. Ceres bust to left, CAEICIAN behind, .E above, rev. two yoked oxen and plough to left, L. CASSI in exergue, ,R above, (S.199, Cr.321/1, Syd.594, B.Cassia 4). Attractive grey patina, off centred obverse, very fine or better and rare.

Ex Raoul Phillips Collection and Monetarium Adelaide at ANDA Brisbane Coin Show, May 23, 2009. The type refers to colonisation probably by an ancestor.
