Syria, Kingdom of, Antiochos VIII, (121-96 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.692 grams), Antioch mint, first reign, issued 121-114 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochos VIII to right, fillet border, rev. Zeus Uranius with crescent above standing to left, holding star and sceptre, on right **BASILEOS and **ANTIOC[OU]* and to left **EPIFANOUS, to left IE over A, to right, between figure and inscription O, (cf.S.7143, Newell SMA 368, SNG Israel I (Spaer) 2496). Double struck on the reverse, toned, otherwise extremely fine and very scarce.
