Sicily, Syracuse, reign of Hiketas, (288-279 B.C.), AE 23, (9.76 grams), obv. bust of youthful laureate head of Zeus Hellanios to left, trophy behind, **DIOS ELLANIOU* to right, dotted border, rev. eagle to left with open wings standing on thunderbolt, to left a star, traces on left **SURAK OSIWN*, A in left field, (S.1212, cf.BMC 468, Favorito 20a-c, SNG ANS 810). Brown patina, extremely fine and very scarce.
