China, Hsin Dynasty, Wang Mang Interregnum, "Chung pu liu pai", square shoulder and square base spade, (c.A.D. 9 -22), four characters "servant" spade money, value 500, length 46mm, (7.22 grams), (Hartill 9.24, Coole 10019 Vol.7 p.194, TFP 474, Pl.54). Some green encrustation, otherwise very fine and very rare.
