Group of Six: Distinguished Conduct Medal (GVIR) Indiae Imp; 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Defence Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45 (copy); Australia Service Medal 1939-45 (copy). NX2057. Sgt. H.L.Watts. AIF. on first medal, NX2057 WO H.L.Watts 2/4 Bn A.I.F. on second and third medals, last three medals unnamed. First medal impressed, second and third medals impressed but not in original issue naming style. Good very fine.
DCM LG 08/7/1941, p.3884, position 8. Citation: Courage of high order at Tobruk on 21 Jan 41. Recommendation: During Battle of Tobruk, on morning of 21 Jan 41, Sgt.Watts with Pte.Broinowski, attacked and caused to surrender, whilst under fire, a Machine Gun Post molesting "B" Coy's right flank. Throughout the whole of the Libyian campaign Sgt.Watts has done valuable work on patrols, obtaining accurate information. He has always been one of the first to volunteer for any dangerous task.
