Ireland, George IV (1820-1830), retrospective pattern crown, dated 1820, obv. portrait of King to left, around GEORGIUS III D:G: BRITANNIAR: REX F:D:, rev. crown with two sceptres and date 18 20 at sides, Sep: below, issue is reminiscent of the James II Irish gunmoney design as replicated by Huth, around HIBERNIA VERITAS TEMPORIS FILIA, plain edge, 38.6mm diameter, struck in three different metals copper, golden alloy, pewter, lot comprises 35 pieces in three different metals. Produced in limited edition quantities by INA Ltd in 2008 to illustrate the potential which had existed for the creation of a larger series of crown-sized coins for this short reign.
