Description

Thessaly, Larissa, (350-325BC), copper drachm, (4.172 grams), obv. head of nymph Larissa three-quarter face to left, wearing necklace, hair floating loosely with ampyx in front, rev. horse grazing to right with traces of ethnic above and in exergue, (cf.S.2120, cf.BMC 57). Off-centre reverse, good very fine/very fine and unpublished in copper.

Ex William B. Porter and previously from the David Freedman Collections and from CNG Electronic Auctions No.100 (lot 31) with tickets. It is suggested that this is the copper core from a contemporary forgery.
