Description
China, Northern Sung Dynasty, Emperor Hui Zong, (A.D. 1101-1125), iron money tree of 38 large iron coins in four rows, issued as Hsuan-ho (1119-1125), each coin 32mm, tree length 400 mm, width 175 mm, (S.646, cf.TFP 1088, Hartill 16.451). Coins are fair and corroded, as an iron money tree very fine and very rare, stored in silk lined Chinese manufactured case.
This is a very rare, large and near perfect iron money tree but corroded as usual. It is claimed that it was recently discovered at excavations from Shan-xi an ancient mint site.
