Diocletian, (A.D. 284-305), gold aureus, issued 290-2, Antioch and Cyzicus mints, (5.352 grams), obv. laureate head of Diocletian to right, around DIOCLETIANVS AVGVSTVS, rev. around CONSVL IIII P P PRO COS, Diocletian standing to left holding a globe, (cf.S.3501, Calico 4434, RIC 285, 307, C.-). Red peripheral tone, nearly as struck, extremely fine and very rare.
