Group of Four: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. 5751 Pte B.Spearey 25-Bn A.I.F. on first two medals, N282688 B.Spearey on second two medals. All medals impressed, the first two being reissued in 1959 following the disappearance of original issues. Extremely fine.

Private Bert Spearey Enl.18Jan1916, Emb.03May1916, WIA 20Sep1917 Belgium, bayonet wound to arm, rejoined battalion 20Oct1917, WIA 09Aug1918 France, GSW left arm, arm amputated, RTA 04Dec1918. WWII, Enl.21Nov1941, Disch.08Nov1945, served as a Lance Corporal with Security Service Intelligence Corps (NSW). Together with Disabled and Discharged Scroll; King's Silver War Badge, number impressed on reverse, A59214; medal boxes and accompanying documents; ribbon bar for first three medals; set of four miniature medals, swing mounted; an interesting brooch type badge featuring a centrepiece made from a Belgium fifty centimes coin and at each side, slightly offset is a Belgium ten centime coin of 1914 voided in the field and below is a scroll containing the inscription, in relief, '1914 MONS 1918', on the reverse of the centre coin in relief is the phrase, 'On / Ne Passe / Pas' (None will pass); one button.
