Hephthalites, Vasu Deva and Mardan Shah, (A.D. 600-719), silver drachm, (3.12 grams), obv. facing bust of Sassanian Khusru II style drachm, Pehlvi legend around, with countermark of lion's head to right, rev. facing bust of radiate sun-god derived from that of coins of Khusru II, Brahmi and Pehlvi legends around, (cf.M.1563, cf.Gobl 216), Good very fine and rare, the countermark unlisted.
