Attica, Athens, (c.500 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.83 grams), obv. crude Archaic style head of Athena to right wearing Attic helmet with faint chevrons and dots, rev. owl standing to right, head facing with broad neck, to left olive spray, to right, **[A]QE*, all in incuse square, (S.1842 [Å‣1000], cf.Sv. Pl.4-5, cf.Asyut Hoard 310-314 [Group IV], Seltman Group Gii, SNG Cop. 19-20). Dumpy flan, weak in places, porous and rough surface, otherwise fine and rare.
