Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.200 grams), Colophon mint, issued c.319-310 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, E**LI to left, lion head left below throne, to right **[A]LEXANDRO[U]*. (cf.S.6730, Price 1776, BMC 1776, M.-, SNG Cop.933). Good very fine, scarce.
