Sicily, Syracuse, end of second democracy and Dionysos I, (c.405 B.C.), AE 17, (4.824 grams), obv. head of Arethusa to left, trace of E behind, rev. quadripartite incuse square, at centre incuse circle containing a star, (S.1185, BMC 242, SNG Lloyd 1426-7, SNG ANS 398-402); another time of Timoleon, (344-306 B.C., Calciati dates 405-395 B.C.), AE 16, (5.616 grams), obv. head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet, **SURA* before, rev. Hippocamp to left with curled wings, (S.1193, BMC 292, SNG ANS 426-433). Brown patina, nearly very fine/very fine and scarce. (2)
