Italy, Bruttium, Croton (Kroton), (420-400 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm (7.89 grams), obv. eagle standing to left, flapping wings, BOI in exergue, rev. tripod with three ring handles, QPO to right, to left filet attached to left handle, and legs of tripod ending in lion's paws, (S.471, cf.SNG ANS 347, HN III 2150/1 var., SNG Munich 1449). Nicely toned and sharply struck, extremely fine and rare.
