Probus, (A.D. 276-282), base silver antoninianus, Rome mint (4.34 grams), obv. radiate bust to right of Probus cuirassed, around IMP PRO BVS AVG, rev. trophy between two captives at base, around VICTOR IA GERM, R crescent A in exergue, (S.12034, RIC 222, C.768); another (3.76 grams), Rome mint, obv. radiate helmeted bust to left of Probus cuirassed, holding spear and shield, around IMP PROB VS AVG, rev. emperor riding to left, holding sceptre with captive at foot, around ADVENTVS AVG, R star S in exergue, (cf.S.11955, RIC 157, C.37-9). First with full silvering, both extremely fine and scarce. (2)
