Attica, Athens, (166-57 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.828 grams), issued 168-167 B.C., (Thompson date) but probably 136-5 B.C. (revised chronology), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right wearing triple-crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasus, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, in erect posture, on prostrate amphora, club two torches to right, **D* amphora, legend across **A QE, to left lion skin and bow in case, across **HRA, ARI-STOF / POLUM*, HP below, all within wreath, (cf.S.2555, Thompson 332c [same obverse die as 332a], Sv.45, 3, same obverse die). Slightly off centred obverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare.
