Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.750 grams), Babylon mint, issued c.311-305 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, monogram MTP in wreath below throne, MI over crescent in left field, in exergue **BASILEWS, ALEXANDR[OU]* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 3756, BMC 3756, M.741). Broad flan, toned with porous field, very fine.
