Description

Van Diemen's Land, Lempriere & Company, four Spanish dollars, Hobart Town, June 1823, No L 100, imprint Engraved by S. Clayton Sydney, entered by C. Boucher and hand signed by T.J. Lemprierie, red brown print on white. Right side frayed and torn away otherwise full and nearly fine, very rare as uncrossed note not used for the court exhibit.

Has been in a frame together with a newspaper photo clipping , as displayed by the owner, a direct descendant of Lemprier, whose family tree goes back to William the Conqueror's time in the Channel Islands.
