Bengal Presidency, Murshidabad Mint, 1793 Second Milled issue, Perpetual 19 san sicca series, Copy of Standard Gold Currency, in the name of Shah Alam II (A.H.1173-1221, A.D.1759-1806), Gold half mohur, (5.715 grams), Regnal Year 19 (fixed), with Privy mark for Murshidabad and with oblique milling to right, (Pr. 402 [This Coin], cf.KM. 101). Extremely fine with large broad flan, scarce.

Ex. F. Pridmore Collection (lot 700 part) with his ticket, (acquired by Pridmore July 4, 1973), and Spink Australia Sale 17 (lot 1840 part). $$ This specimen is the illustrated example in Pridmore's book. It is described as a typical example of a later gold copy of the half mohur and is of poorer workmanship to the previous lot with Pridmore's specimen of the mohur.
