Bengal Presidency, Farrukhabad Mint Coinage, Third period, 1831-1833, issued in the name of Shah Alam II (A.H. 1173-1221, A.D. 1759-1806), issued with frozen Regnal Year 45, silver quarter rupee, half rupee and rupee with privy mark for Calcutta with privy marks (a crescent) for Calcutta, another Fourth period 1833-1835, silver rupee without privy mark (crescent) issued for Calcutta mint, all with plain edges, (Pr.326, 329, 331, 333, KM.75-78). Very fine - extremely fine, first with attractive blue and gold tone. (4)
Ex. Seaby January 1970, (for first coin), last coin from Glendining's Sept. 5, 1979 (lot 196 part). $$ The last two periods (1831-1835), confined the issues with or without crescent privy mark, to Calcutta mint.
