Madras Presidency, European Style Coinages, Second Issue, 1808, silver five fanams, obv. circular garter with legend in English FIVE FANAMS, no stops, oval buckle partly filled, rev. ribbon separated by star, native legend, (Pr. 180, KM. 351). Extremely fine and scarce.
Ex. Pridmore Collection, (lot 379 part) and also Glendining & Co Feb. 22, 1984 (lot 108 part), both with ticket and packet.
