Aziz-ud-din 'Alamgir II, (A.H. 1167-1173), (A.D.1754-1759), round Gold mohur, (10.90 grams), struck at Shahjahanabad Dar-ul-Khilafat (Delhi), mint, issued A.H. 1168 (A.D. 1754-5), Regnal year 2, obv. within looped square the Kalima, hijri date 1168, in centre, rev. Alamgir's name within looped square, mint name and Regnal year in lower marginal pane, (BMC 1060, Punjab Museum Lahore 2733, Lucknow 4354, KM. SAC 464.1). Broad full flan, good extremely fine and very rare.
Ex. Glendining's London, late 1960's. $$ A coin of distinctive design using square fields and unusual with the use of the Kalima at such a late date. It is of great rarity struck only at this mint for this date with this Regnal year only, and then only, as part of the issue for this year. Very few specimens appear on the market an none in recent years.
