Ahmad Shah Bahadur / 'Alamgir II mule, (A.H. 1167-1173), (A.D.1754-1759), round Gold mohur, (10.835 grams), struck at probably Shahjahanabad Dar-ul-Khilafat (Delhi), mint, issued A.H. [11]72 (A.D. 1758-9), No Regnal year, obv. Ahmad Shah Bahadur name at top, partial date on flan upper right 116X, rev. 'Alamgir name at top, partial date [11]72 on centre left, (cf.BMC 1043/1082, cf.Nagpur 1134/1246, cf.Lucknow 4223/4358, KM. SAC 449.12/466.1). Of excellent style and correct weight, good very fine, and unpublished as a mule of two rulers.

Ex. Glendining's London, late 1960's. $$ The appearance of the portion of the couplet on the reverse, of 'Alamgir II stating 'Struck money in the seven climates shining like the sun and moon, Shah 'Aziz-ad-din 'Alamgir Victorious Padishah', suggests the issue to be a product of Shahjahanabad mint, (p.372 BMC and Bombay Museum cf.993 (p.194). The obverse and reverse of this coin are the standard obverses of both the above rulers. As the issue is of excellent and correct style and weight it is believed the issue to be a genuine product of the Shahjahanabad mint and not a contemporary copy.
