R.W. Allan on the second and third medals, Lt. R.W. Allan R.G.A. on the fourth medal, Capt. R.W. Allan R.G.A. on the fifth medal, Maj. R.W. Allan R.I. A.S.C on the sixth medal, Col. R.W. Allan on the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth medals, the first medal un-named. The second to sixth medals impressed, seventh to tenth medals pantographed. Very fine.

Lt. Col. R.W. Allan MC, Royal Artillery and Royal Indian Army Service Corps. M.C. 16th September 1918, "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When in charge of the battery he did good work at close range, working in conjunction with the infantry was able to destroy houses containing machine guns, thus saving a critical situation".
