Description
New Zealand, Reserve Bank, a hand produced document (probably by an employee of the bank) on parchment paper (c. 1967). Reserve Bank logo at the top and signed by the Governor (Gilbert Wilson), Chief Cashier (Neal Fleming) and four other executives. Some toning, very fine and a unique piece of New Zealand banking history.
"The signatures above represent the top executives of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, who with their staff carried the old currency to the new decimal currency. The carrying out by land, sea and air the movement of large quantities of the new currency for the opening date of July 10th 1967 throughout New Zealand required meticulous planning & security measures. The success of the whole operation & ready acceptance by the public, also the shortness of the settling down period which was considerably less than anticipated bears witness to a job well done."
