Ceylon, Sabonadiere & Co,; S. & Co./Ambewatte Mills, 1877 (18 3/4 cents) in brass (Pr. 86) (2), Maddema Mills 1877, very similar but in tin (Pr.87). A.B. Scott & Co., Colombo/ Coffee Store 1859 in brass (29 mm) by Ralph Heaton & Sons, Birmingham (Pr. 88) (2) C.S. Hand & Co, C.S. &Co./Galle (4«d) circa 1855) (Pr.89, another but P.S. on reverse (2), another S.S. on reverse (Pr.90, 91). N.D.P. Silva, PS on both sides Pr.90, 91 have different obverse die from Pr.89. P.S. = Plumbago Stores (Silva, a native, was known as the Plumbago King (Pr.92). C.H. de Soysa, C.H.de S./plain with concentric circles (Pr.93) (2), another but in copper (ex Gartner & Wodak). The tin issue is fine, others nearly very fine - good extremely fine, a few rare. (13)
Ex W.J. Noble Collection, Noble Numismatics Sale 61 (lot 1527) and previously the best Pr.87, 89 and 93 in copper ex J.G. Gartner Collection, duplicates of these plus Pr.88 and best Pr.90 ex Carnegie Museum of Natural History (lot 881), the others ex R.J. Ford Collection (lots 286, 287, 288 part).
