George V, Royal Mint London, pattern or proof florin, 1951, Federation Jubilee commemorative in cupro-nickel, with fine grained or milled edge. Minor carbon stain in centre of reverse, full original frosting or matte finish mint bloom, FDC and excessively rare, one of four known in private hands.
Ex A.H. Baldwin & Sons Ltd and Spink Australia in 1989. The Royal Mint in London produced this pattern of the new intended commemorative florin for approval and struck it on the available blanks for British florins at that time. The currency issue was struck in Melbourne.
