James A.P.Powell Supt.Met.Pol on second medal, Inspr J.Powell N.Divn on third medal, James Powell Supt D.Div on fourth medal, Supt J.Powell on fifth medal. MBE unnamed, remaining four medals engraved. Very fine and a rare group.

James Ablitt Pasifull Powell. Superintendant Metropolitan Police. Born Harwich, Essex 15May1850. Joined Metropolitan Police at Old Scotland Yard 18Dec1871, posted to the 'C' or St James Division, 'A' Whitehall Division 04Feb1873, promoted to P.S. 41 'A' 09Sep1878, to 'Y' Highgate Division as Inspector (3rd Class) 19Jun1886, to 'S' Hampstead Division Chief Inspector 21Feb1894, to 'D' Marylbone Division as Superindentant 11May1900, to 'A' Div 09Nov1916. Retired 31Aug1919.
