GROUP OF FOUR: Military Medal (GVR) with bar for second award; 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal, Pte C.F. Ellingsen 12th F.A. Aust. A.M.C. 14 Bn. AIF. Impressed. Very fine.

MM:CG. 27 June 1918. Bar to MM: C.G. 27 June 1918. MM: 'On 4th October 1917 at 7.00pm in the neighbourhood of Zonnebeke showed conspicuous gallantry under fire. His unceasing efforts in getting wounded away from this forward post in spite of great fatigue and heavy shell fire undoubtedly saved many lives'. Bar to Military Medal: 'For gallantry and devotion to duty in the Zonnebeke area, east of Ypres on 12 and 13 October 1917, from 8.00am 12 October 17 to 8.00pm 13 October 1917 he continuously carried wounded under heavy enemy shell fire. At 5pm on 13 October 1917 in passing through an enemy barrage the patient was blown from the stretcher and Private Ellingsen although suffering from the effects of the shell burst and later from abrased feet, refused to rest but continued to carry wounded until relieved'. With Gallipoli Medallion, hat badge and ribbon bar.
