Aethelred II, (978-1016), silver penny, first hand type issued 976-985, (1.54 grams), obv. bust to right, around AEDELRAED REX ANGLOX, rev. AELFSTAN M-O LVNDONI (Alstan of London), hand of Providence from clouds, (S.1144, N.766, BMC iia). Very fine or better, slightly crinkled and rare.
