Vespasian, (A.D. 69-79), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 70, (3.186 grams), obv. laureate head of Vespasian to right, around IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG, rev. Pax seated to left holding olive branch and caduceus, COS ITER TR POT around, (S.2285 [£65VF], RIC 10, RSC 94h). Nearly very fine and scarce.
Ex John Dean Collection. The Reka-Devnia hoard contained 1725 denarii of Vespasian but none of this variety.
