Nero, (A.D. 54-68), AE As, Lugdunum mint, issued A.D. 64, (9.97 grams), obv. bare head of Nero to right, around [NERO CLA]VD CAESAR AVG GERMANICV, rev. S C across, Nero laureate, advancing to the right in the flowing robes of Apollo Citharoedus playing a lyre held in the left hand, around PON[TIF MAX TR] POT IMP P P, (cf.S.686 [£160], RIC 384, BMC 541). Weakness in places on the legend, otherwise fine and rare.
