Egypt, Alexandria, Nero, (A.D. 54-68), billon tetradrachm, year 4 = A.D. 57-58, (12.936 grams), obv. laureate bust of Nero to right, around NEP**W KLAU KAIS [SEBA GER AUTO]*, rev. bust of Agrippina to right, around **AGRIPPINA SEBASTH*, before L**D*, (cf.S.1989, BMC 117-8, Milne 155, Koln 128, RPC 5221). Off centred on obverse, fine/very fine.
Ex John Dean Collection. Agrippina Junior was the daughter of Agrippina Senior and Germanicus. She was born in 16 A.D. and was married to Cnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus, by whom she had the future emperor Nero. Exiled by her brother Caligula, she was recalled by Claudius, her uncle, and married him soon afterwards. She was murdered by her son, Nero, in 59 A.D. This coin was issued a year before her death.
