This NCO who belongs to the Transport Section daily took parties of pack horses into the heavily shelled area and each time reached his objective, with rations and water at times when water was very badly needed. He also conveyed two cookers up the road when it was being heavily shelled; he was unable to wait until the shelling ceased as the men forward were waiting for the hot rations. Another time during a very dark night and under very severe shelling one pair of horses dislodged the driver and bolted off towards the line. L/Cpl Scott dismounted and ran after them not knowing where they were going and discovered the horses and wagon in the custody of troops near the support lines. He returned to the dump an hour afterwards and delivered the rations'.
