Group of Five: Queen's South Africa Medal - five bars - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902; 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; Distinguished Service Cross (USA). 365 Tpr A.W.Errington South Aus. I.B. on first, 91 L/Sgt A.Errington 32 Bn A.I.F. on second, 91 Sgt A.Errington 32 Bn A.I.F. on third and fourth, A.W.E.Errington on last (also numbered 6334). Last medal engraved, others impressed. Very fine and very rare, DSC in case of issue.
DSC (USA): For extraordinary heroism in action near Bullecourt, France, on September 29, 1918. When his company was halted by machine-gun fire Sgt. Errington, with two comrades, rushed the enemy position and captured the machine-gun. Later the same day he rushed a second machine-gun and killed three of the crew. This action took place in conjunction with that attack of the 30th United States division. Arthur Errington, 32 Battalion AIF. Enl. 21Jul1915. Dischgd 20Jul1919. Died 7Jun1934. One of nine Australian recipients of the American Distinguished Service Cross during the war of 1914-18.
