Thrace, Island of, Thasos, (after 148 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.714 grams), obv. head of the young Dionysos wearing ivy wreath to right, rev. naked Herakles standing facing head to left, holding club and lion skin, around **HPAKLEOUS SWTHROS QA[SIWN]*, to left in field monogram **HM*, (S.1759, BMC 74-78, SNG Cop. 1043). Toned, scyphate type flan with minor flan cut on leg on reverse, othewise, very fine or better.
