Thrace, Island of, Thasos, (after 148 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.755 grams), obv. head of young Dionysos to right, wreathed with ivy and band across forehead, rev. Herakles naked standing to left, holding club, lion skin over left arm, to right **[H]RAKLEOUS*, to left **SWTHROS, below **QASIWN, MH monogram to left, (cf.S.1759, SNG Cop. 1040-1045). Attractive old grey tone, well centred and good metal, good very fine.
