Moesia Inferior, Istros, (400-350 B.C.), silver stater, (4.975 grams), obv. two young male heads facing, side by side, left inverted, right upright, rev. sea-eagle standing to left on dolphin to left, which it attacks with its beak, above **ISTRIH, **DI* monogram below dolphin, (cf.S.1669; SNG BM 254-5, Pick 421, SNG Stancomb 149); another similar but obv. with left head upright and rev. with B below eagle wing, (cf.S.1669, SNG BM 239, Pick 426, SNG Stancomb 139-140). Both varieties lightly toned, an interesting pair, very fine. (2)
