GEORGE III, Resolution and Adventure Medal 1772, in platina (brass) (44mm) struck from first reverse die with die break, by B.F. (Matthew Boulton) (M.H.373; BHM. 165). Missing suspension, even brown patina, even wear with large sections corroded away on reverse, smaller on the obverse, obviously a distributed medal by Captain James Cook during his second voyage of discovery.
