Severus Alexander, (A.D. 222-235), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 231-235, (23.31 grams), obv. laureate head of Severus Alexander to right with slight drapery on left shoulder, around IMP ALEXANDER PIVS AVG, rev. around PROVIDENTIA AVG, S C across field, Providentia standing head to left, holding cornucopiae and two corn ears over modius, (S.2265 [£75 F], RIC 642, C.503). Dark green patina, chip out of edge, good fine/very fine and scarce.
