Lucius Verus, (A.D. 161-169), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 161, (25.11 grams), obv. bare headed bust of Lucius Verus, draped and cuirassed to right, around IMP CAES L AVREL VERVS AVG, rev. around CONCORD AVGVSTOR TR P COS II, SC in exergue, Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus both togate standing facing each other with clasped hands, (S.5367, RIC 1284, C.28, BMC 859). A striking piece with a very dark brown patina, in exceptional high relief, as fine as any known specimen of this ruler, good extremely fine and extremely rare in this condition.
