Sicily, Leontinoi, Silver Tetradrachm, c.475-468 B.C., (16.898 grams), Obv. Charioteer driving quadriga to right,Nike flying above and crowning horses, Rev. Lion's head to r., with open mouth, around traces of LE O N T I NON (N's reversed), and four corn-grains around, (cf.Sear 825, cf.SNG Cop. 337, Boehringer 'Leontinoi' 22, [Essays to Martin Price] No.2 [same obverse die, Pl.11]). Good very fine and very rare.
